~NonasNote Newbies~

I was absolutely thrilled to get a bit of spare time on my hands recently, as I had been flooded with ideas for NonasNote newbies.  I'm really diggin the halters.  Perhaps because I long for warm weather and a sun tan.  I figured, I would just roll with it.

But along with creating a "new style" of halter top, not so long ago I received a request to continue making chained neckwarmers.  I thought that was a pretty good idea.  I had not created them in quite some time, and they were super fun and authentic pieces.

On my mission to create these pieces, suddenly inspiration came over me and my fingers went to work
on a different piece.  I love the way it turned out.  I am infatuated with being wrapped in fiber chains and what a better way to top off the piece than with a beautiful, shiny, and sleek satin ribbon.  So here are my two new pieces.  I hope you enjoy~

This super soft pale and dainty purple halter is perfect to wear over a bikini top~

I really love "drop necks" and wanted to feature it in a halter.  I absolutely love

the way that it turned out.

~~~On The Flipside~~~

You may have noticed, lately, that I have been spending quite a bit of time creating and introducing my new line of halter tops.  You may have even thought, "it's winter, halter tops?".  Well, I just have to say, it is always summer somewhere.  And though I cannot be whisked away to the endless rays of intense summer heat (of which I am a huge fan), I have decided that I would pay tribute to the "FlipSide" of the world.  Those lucky ladies who are, even as we speak, absorbing the heat of the sun, splashing around in rivers, lakes, streams, and the more blessed, the ocean.  These are for you.  Let it be said of me, that I have not neglected you~ Please allow me to live vicariously through you!!!

Crocheted in "Thyme", this bohemian inspired halter is likely to become your favorite piece.

I had to finish this halter in typical NonasNote flair, fringe!  I couldn't leave it at that, though,

I wanted to give it a bit more of a punch, and I believe, the strand of two feathers really tied this

for new items~

I rather enjoy the changes in the weather.  I don't mind the snow falling gently upon the valley floor, whispering in the night as I lay sound asleep.  And in the morning when I lift my head from my pillow, when I lift the lids of my eyes, I am always a bit surprised, to see all that had taken place as I slumbered.  As the valley lies comforted by a blanket of snow.  It has settled beneath and begins it's own sort of slumber.

I rather enjoy the changes in the weather, as the sun is still shining, still, it sets.  Though, for a moment, it plays tag with the clouds.  Or perhaps a game of hide and seek, whichever, you choose.  And the stout-hearted birds still fly.  You can catch them, at times, all puffed up beneath the branches of the pines, hidden beneath the umbrella of the evergreen needles, kept warm in the arms of comfort and temporary shelter.  And still they are clothed and cared for, having need of nothing.

I cannot say that I mind, whether the cold wind is shouting, or the frost gathers as ornaments of splendor.  Whether or not the heavenly receptacles pour rain or snow, or sleet, or whether they are commanded to halt.  I cannot say that I mind, not really, not at all~

~A busy busy lit'l season~

Oh my poor blog~  Have I forotten about you?  No way~  Seems I have been so busy that I just haven't had a chance to update you.  So here I am.  Please allow me to fill you in on why I've been absent.

Christmas season came and went with a bang! bang! bang!  nonasnote.etsy.com was a very busy place to be~  My lit'l hands literally created well over 150 triangle neckscarves.  I was so happy with the holiday turn out.  I'm actually still playing catch up~  And while I was making all of these scarves, I had tons of new ideas that will hopefully play out well when they are created.  We'll just have to see though now won't we?  te he he

The biggest seller so far for NonasNote was most definitely the triangle neckscarves and I even had a bit of time to create some in a few different colors. 

In all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, I also decided to delete my personal facebook profile.  I just needed to have more time on my hands.  Unfortunately, because of this, I also lost my original NonasNote facebook fan page so I had to start allllll over again.  Please pay the new page a visit, perhaps a "like", and "how do you do".  I would love to hear form you~

Fab Fabric Creations~ What to do with a tshirt~

I Love love love to create~  Coming up with new designs is so amazing, but what's even better is watching how they turn out.  Sometimes, yep, sometimes, they don't work out as well I thought they would and then it's back to the drawing board I go.  However, when what started as a seed in my messy mind actually works out, it's simply wonderful, fun, exhilerating, fantastic!

I've been working with yarn for several years now, but before yarn, there was a needle, thread, and my own reconstructions from the closet.  I recently decided to explore this passion a bit more and see what my thoughts could conjure up~  After a few weeks of creating, I am presenting to you some of the new creations now featured at nonasnote.etsy.com~

Working with different materials is a blast.  And how about the "emerald green"????  I never really explored "green", but am now thinking that it may very well be one of my favs.

Recycled T-shirts and other fab fabric finds~

For those who know me, you know how much I love to crochet.  Lately, though, I've just had this curiousity to experiment with other fabrics.  I have a lot a lot a lot of yarn stacked in my workshop, but what about fabric?  Do I have any fabric to play around with????  Hmmmmmmmm

After pondering for quite a while, I realized I had bags and bags full of clothing that I had been meaning to utilize in some way.  So, I decided what a better way to use than "reuse", so off I went on my little creative adventure.

At first I decided I wanted to make infinity jersey scarves.  I made a few, and can't wait to make more.  But then I decided I wanted to make something a weeee bit different, I decided on cutting up and creating super fun neck scarf (enter backslash here) shoulder fringe scarves and I absolutely love them.  Here's a few pics of my newest creations, not yet available for purchase, but with a lit'l work, they will be ready in no time at all.

After I finisehd several several of these, I felt like maybe doing some wool felting, so this is something else I created today.  Absolutely adorable, soft, and perfect for the fall and winter seasons.

After wool felting for a while, I also decided I wanted to utilize some fabric that my amazing and creative sister in law sent me.  So here's what I created with just a bit of that.

Needless to say, I had a super great day creating fun and authentic accessories.  I can't wait to photograph these items being worn and look forward to creating listings for my Etsy shop~

I created this one using a super soft and lightweight polyester blend yarn.

The strands on this piece are longer and plentiful.  The shades in this piece are off white and a light cafe'.  I love these pieces because they really give you a light and airy feel.  Imagine these strands blowing in the afternoon breeze.  This bohemian feel accessory is a lovely way to add a little authenticity to your wardrobe without spending a bunch of money~  Don't be afraid to try new things this spring and summer season, you just might fall in love with them~

I am continuing, also, with my "chains" theme, as I just adore the look and feel of these little pieces.  Once again, these can be worn over tanks tops with a pair of jeans, a skirt, or a pair of shirts.  How adorable these would also be over a spring or summer dress.  I added the ruffled flutter sleeves to give them that NonasNote flair~
